| Question: | How do Recruiters view my application? |
| Answer: | Recruiters receive any cover letters you decide to create and your CV in an email. |
| Question: | When I try to upload my CV is says the file is too large, how can I prevent this? |
| Answer: | The maximum size our system can upload is 3MB. This restriction ensures service to everyone because of the large volume of CV's being uploaded every day. Ensure you don't have any large pictures or graphics in your CV file. If you do, remove them, re-save the document and then click on its properties to see if it is still above 3MB. In order to apply you must get the CV size below 3MB. It is likely you are using Microsoft Word to make revisions to your CV, so Word may 'remember' these changes which could increase the file size dramatically. Copy and paste the existing content into a new Word document and save that file separately. This may solve the issue and get your file size under 3MB. As a guide a typical CV should be no more than 90KB. |
| Question: | What if I don't want my current employer to see my CV online? |
| Answer: |
There are a few options you have: 1. When applying to a job the last question you are asked is if you will 'allow your details to be searched by selected recruiters to offer you relevant jobs'. To protect the details you have supplied on your CV select 'No'. NOTE: This means you cannot be found on the CV database that Recruiters can register for which may limit the job opportunities presented to you. 2. Don't use your full name on your CV or when you join the site. Use your first name and the first letter of your last name only. On your CV provide only an email address (which doesn't contain your name) and do not include a telephone number. With your address only provide the town or area of your city. 3. Remove your current employers name from CV and simply overwrite it with 'Global Investment Bank' or 'Mortgage Provider' etc. Equally ensure that within your existing job description there are no words or phrases specific to your current employer. There is always a risk when applying for a new job that your current employer will find out but if you follow the steps above that risk should be minimised. |
| Question: | How do I delete my information completely from your site? |
| Answer: | On the contact page email us with the email address you registered with stating that you wish your account to be closed. We will send you a confirmation email that you must reply to. Before you reply confirming you wish to delete your account ensure you have downloaded any relevant information and CV's.
